Get Microsoft Accounts and Billing Support

For all Office 365 subscriptions and since Office 2013 you need an account associated with Office to manage your subscription and to install or reinstall Office: Renew Microsoft Office 365

1. Sign in to manage Office 

2. Go to www.office.com and if you’re not already signed in, sign in with your personal Microsoft accounts and billing support, or work or school account when prompted. 

3. Tip: If you can’t remember which email address you associated with Office, see I can’t remember the Microsoft account I use with Office. 

4. From the upper-right corner select your account name, and then select View account from the list of options. 

What you can do next depends on the type of account you signed in with Microsoft account:

If you signed in with a Microsoft accounts and billing, you’ll go to account.microsoft.com. This is where you can manage any Microsoft products associated with this account.

1. From the header, select Services & subscription and search for your Office product from the list of products and services associated with this account. Depending on your product this is where you can.

 2. Manage your Microsoft account, update your password, set additional security settings, and update your billing information. 

3. View all Microsoft products, including Office products, which are associated with this account. 

4. Install or reinstall Office on your device

For Office 365 subscriptions only:

1. Deactivate Office on devices you’re no longer using, renew Office 365, and manage your payment options. 

2. If you have Office 365 Home, you can share your subscription, or if you’re not the owner, see who’s sharing with you.

Work or school account:

If you signed in with a work or school account, you’ll go to the account page for your organization. This is where you can: 

1. Deactivate installations on devices you no longer need. 

2. View what Office 365 subscription you have and see what licenses your Office 365 admin assigned you.

 3. Select Install status and install or reinstall the latest desktop version of Office. 

4. For Office 365 admins only, if you’re the Office 365 admin in your organization, you control what you want your users to have access to. Go to the Office 365 Admin help center for more information about setting up users.

Phishing attacks aim to steal sensitive data by prompting people to renew Microsoft subscription

The initial scam emails claim that the recipient must renew their Microsoft Office 365 subscription, says Abnormal Security. Phishing campaigns work by impersonating some well-known organization or brand, and that certainly includes a company like Microsoft. With products like Windows, Office, Outlook, and OneDrive prevalent among consumers and businesses, Microsoft is a tempting target for cybercriminals to spoof. Two recent phishing attacks analyzed by security provider Abnormal Security use a subscription renewal as the pitch to trap unsuspecting users.
